Please be aware that very rarely buying things from Asia might not contribute to sweatshops. For instance, Ten Thousand Villages, a shop on Broadway, Vancouver is a place where they sell fair-trade products from places around poor parts of the world (which can also include Asia). Make sure you know where it came from and if it is still a fair trade product.
